Gordon Family Dobermans

Quality Doberman Pinschers for the entire family!

My Family lives in Peck, Kansas.  Outside of Haysville, Kansas.  I love all animals!  It started with dogs and cats then we moved here in 2004 and got baby geese and I did raise them in the house in a spare room.  Boy, was that a joy, Yuck!

I'm very scared that at nite something will come out and get my babies so I get up at all hours to go check and wake them up and just to make sure they were there.

After the geese I got goats, first a boy then a girl.  They were so cute...I got them at a week old and bottle fed them.  They lived in our garage (that didn't make my husbands boys too happy).  They were in the garage for a long time.  Whereas, I got them in February and they didn't go out to the pond till July, so Angela kept telling me that I was spoiling them way too much.  So they went out and I would go out and check and cry to my husband to let them come back in the garage.

Well then, once I got to know Angela and her bunch, she had the cutest baby that was named Smores Baby and God I wanted that goat.  I didn't care what I had to do.  So we traded and I got him.  Well now he is so spoiled and the fattest thing around!  And on Feb. 9th, Willie and Fanny gave me a really big surprize, TWINS!  And Oh My Gosh, my husband wasn't happy at all...Oh well they are still here!

Well since I was out voted on the goats coming in and living with me in the house, I had dogs and I always had German Shepherds.  My husband liked Dobermans, so in 2005 my Old Lady had to be put to sleep and I just couldn't go without a dog, so I searched around and found Yetta a week later.  A black and tan Dobie, and I knew the runt of the litter was still there and I drove real fast to go and get her too.  Her name was Gretta.  I was set, had my girls and I still had 2 German Shepherds, Saint and Mogley.  And we had a Dalmation named Pepper.  But wasn't good enough...  I would watch the adds looking for more.  One day we were at the vet with Yetta and they were councling up on a Dobie weighing 115lbs.  The man setting next to us was talking about our dogs and what good shape he thought they were in.  He was there to pick up a blue female dobie about 12 wks old and very pretty!  He had invited us to his house to see his dobermans and my husband was excited because the man told him he had a male that we could have, because he had to go to china for 6 months and no one to take care of him.

So here we went to his house...  We got there and in a smaller cage was the little blue female (from the vet office).  I snuck over to love on her while the man and my husband were talking and figuring out if we were going to take the male dog or not.  So finally I spoke up that I wanted to keep her and my husband kinda shreeked 'no'.  Well as I was carrying her around knowing that I was not one to be told 'No'.  I was going to have what I wanted.  We did bring home both dogs, with the agreement that when we bred her that he gets 2 puppies and we agreed.

Well as time went on, I was having a horrible problem with Yetta and Gretta fighting.  So bad I didn't know what to do, you get an animal for life not for a little while.  So we did everything; sectioned off the land so one was on one side and the other on the other side.  Ok!  While I was out feeding, I was careful not to let the dogs get together, and Gretta turned around and bit me.  Wait a minute...you don't bite the hand that feeds you and kinda backed off but she came at me again.  Well I had to do something, so I called Doberman Rescue and they wanted me to meet them at the shelter and I did.  Everything was going good, till another dog came in and she went right after it and Oh My I knew I did the right thing.

For a long time I didn't look at papers, but then a friend of my husband calls and says his daughter has a fawn dobie that she can't keep and her ears were done and she was soo pretty.  So I called her and met her and I came with another thought.  I was crazy and I just wasn't done.  I looked in the paper and someone was getting rid of a year old red female.  And off I was again, brought her home.  Well all of the sudden Champagne (the Fawn) just got sick and died.  Was very unexpectidly.  Oh man that was hard to take, then in December Saint, my old German Shepherd was getting up in age and he had lost the use of his hind end.  I took him to the vet, my children had grown up with him and it was so hard they couldn't let go.  I carried this 100 lb. dog around for 3 wks until I realized I was torchering him by having him stay here for me.  So finally I had to have my buddy put down.

Within this 3 wks everytime I went to the vet a family was in there with a new litter of dobie puppies.  I looked but had too much to deal with at the time.  But finally I got brave and asked, How much and When?  Yes, I came home with another fawn doberman.  And she is a great puppy.  So now I have 5 Dobermans, 1 German Shepherd, and 1 Dalmation.  My husband says the more I get the more spoiled they get.  And I have no idea where he gets that idea, but they are all attatched to me at the hip and don't move in the house, unless I have my following...
